The Village of Elburn is a fast growing business friendly community of approximately 5,600 residents with a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere.  Elburn is strategically located on suburban Chicago’s Route 47 corridor between Interstates I-90 and I-88 just 10 miles west of the Fox River in central Kane County.  Elburn’s near interstate access and lower real estate costs – make it an excellent location for business.

It is the overall goal of the Village of Elburn to preserve it’s character as a charming place to live and a prosperous area for business. The village seeks to encourage moderate and well-balanced growth. Growth that contains a balance of commercial and residential land uses will ensure that a stable tax base is maintained, as well as the character of the community.

Residential

Elburn offers a wide range of affordable residential housing options for every lifestyle and stage of life.  Elburn’s newest master-planned community is Shodeen Homes’ Elburn Station.  Elburn Station has a variety of homes including traditional and neo-traditional single-family residences, attached townhomes, stacked flats with elevators and underground parking and walk-up apartments which makes it a perfect choice for all home buyers. Downtown Elburn (Old Elburn) offers residents stately old homes and picturesque streets where they can walk or bike to their favorite diner or shop in just a few minutes.  In addition our community has many subdivisions and neighborhoods that offer amenities such as bike trails, open spaces and parks!  And for those who prefer a simpler, rustic or rural setting…Elburn has it all!

Many well-known commercial businesses reside in Elburn along Rt. 47  including AutoZone, Bob Jass Chevrolet, Dunkin Donuts, Hair Cuttery, Jewel Osco, McDonald’s, NAPA Auto Parts, Rosati’s Pizza, Subway, Taco Bell and Walgreens.

Visit downtown Elburn where you will find all of the local favorites like the Corner Grind, Paisano’s Pizza, Reams Meat Market, Schmidts Towne Tap and more!

Parks & Recreation

The Village of Elburn has many beautiful community parks and open spaces! Elburn Lions Community Park located in the heart of Elburn features over 25 acres of land, community playground, softball fields and banquet and pavilion rentals. In addition Elburn  offers two forest preserves Johnson’s Mound and Elburn Forest Preserve where hiking, sledding and a family picnic can be enjoyed. In 2019 the Village of Elburn received a $400,000 grant from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources for Keslinger and Liberty Community Park.
