At the January 6th meeting of the Elburn Community Development Corporation, directors heard from representatives of Everstream, Inc., the midwest’s business only fiber network provider. Everstream advised that they plan to run fiber optic cable north and south along Route 47 and east and west along Route 38. They will offer services to businesses within a half a mile of either side of the routes. Both routes are within the village’s official Planning Area.
ECDC and the village hope to highlight this high-speed connectivity as a part of their marketing of the village to new businesses, especially those that require a wide bandwidth.
Everstream representatives offered assistance from their marketing department to help ECDC showcasing advantages the network will provide businesses.
Everstream now operates in 5 states. Their plans include network expansion in the Chicago area, including 1,248 miles of new cable going west to Rockford, south to Joliet and northwest to Harvard. The routes along Rt 38 and Rt.. 47 will be their longest.
